ADAC’s 6-Week Executive Function Learning Pathway supports schools and school networks in building a shared, practical approach to teaching the skills students need to plan, focus, remember, and self-manage for learning.
About ADAC’s Learning Pathways
A learning pathway is a prescribed sequence of learning engagements that structures how faculty engage in professional learning over time. Pathways may include modules, facilitated sessions, coaching conversations, and applied practice, supported by an ADAC coach to ensure sustained, job-embedded learning.
Faculty learning is anchored in a series of ADAC-developed online modules that can be explored independently and then brought into team or whole-faculty settings for deeper discussion and application.
With guidance from an ADAC coach, schools receive a clear structure for working through the modules together over time, using real classroom examples and student needs as the throughline. Coaching sessions help leaders and teacher teams connect the content directly to lesson design, routines, and supports, ensuring that executive function strategies become part of everyday Tier 1 instruction rather than an add-on.
Sample Executive Function Learning Pathway
Strengthen student academic success and social-emotional development
- Faculty complete ADAC online modules (individually and in teams) to build shared understanding and identify priority practices.
- The school leadership team participates in monthly virtual coaching with an ADAC coach to learn about quality classroom indicators for executive functions, plan and conduct aligned walkthroughs, and provide actionable feedback to teachers that supports consistent implementation across the school.
- Each grade band or content area (e.g., K–2, 3–5, 6–8, 9-12) engages in a series of three virtual sessions focused on applying the module content to their developmental level, designing concrete routines, and sharing classroom examples.
- Teachers implement agreed-upon practices in classrooms between sessions, bringing back observations and artifacts to leadership coaching and grade-band sessions for refinement.

Service and Delivery Method
Executive Functions Learning Pathway
Virtual
Faculty learning is guided through a series of ADAC-developed online modules designed for both independent engagement and collaborative use, including explicit focus on quality classroom indicators for executive functions. Faculty apply this learning in teams, while the school leadership team engages in monthly virtual coaching to learn these indicators in depth, plan and conduct aligned walkthroughs, and provide targeted feedback to teachers. With support from an ADAC coach, schools receive structure and guidance to work through the modules together and use walkthrough data, enabling job-embedded, sustained coaching that connects directly to classroom practice and supports consistent implementation schoolwide.
