ADAC’s Restorative Practices Learning Pathway is designed to equip educators and staff with the foundational understanding and practical skills to implement Restorative Practices effectively within their school community.
The Case for the Restorative Practices Learning Pathway
The Restorative Practices Learning Pathway begins with a foundational launch session focused on restorative philosophy, followed by five interactive one-hour virtual modules detailing implementation strategies. Each session includes core content, real-world application scenarios, and additional resources. In addition, the pathway includes leadership implementation coaching to support sustainable systems and structures to transform the school-wide approach to discipline.
Restorative Practices shift school discipline away from traditional punitive models and toward approaches that focus on repairing harm and strengthening relationships. The traditional model often isolates students, and fails to address the root causes of behavior. Restorative Practices shifts the focus to relationships, making experiences of misbehavior a learning opportunity rather than simply a punitive event.
