The impact of COVID-19 is far-reaching and universal. So, also, is COVID-19’s impact on education.
In addition to social-emotional distress, many students are experiencing much greater-than-normal learning gaps in Math, Reading, and Writing. If educational integrity is to be maintained, then schools will be compelled to temper this distress and narrow these learning gaps.
The latter compulsion begets two additional compulsions: first, schools will be required to remap their curricula and, second, teachers will be required to utilize differentiated instruction.
